Research and Development Program Example
INTRAOPERATIVE BETA-IMAGING PROBE

RMD, Inc., is currently conducting a research and development program with a beta imaging probe. This probe detects and images the, the beta particles from F-18 and other PET isotopes. The beta particles are detected before they meet an electron and annihilate to produce 511 keV annihilation photons that are routinely detected in PET imaging. This beta imaging probe has not yet been approved by the FDA. This probe is currently for Investigational Use Only. The images below show the convenient size of the probe and a color-coded image of beta particles.

Specific Probe Example -- Beta-PET™ Probe
The RMD Beta-PET™ Probe detects the beta particles that proceed from the decay of radiopharmaceuticals such as 18F-FDG. The output signal is an event rate and an audible signal.
